Troop 67 can’t wait to get back to Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation to test their skill on the Rock Wall again. Here are some pictures from fall 2020.
The Klondike Derby was modified to abide by all current COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. Even with the modified format, the scouts had a great day at Camp Winnebago in Rockaway, NJ.
Troop 67 was tested throughout the day in typical scout skills including, fire building, first aid, cooking, and orienteering. The scouts needed to hike to their camp site carrying all the equipment they would typically need for a weekend camping trip.
Each activity was scored based on the troop’s preparedness, teamwork, knowledge and ability to complete the task. Troop 67 worked great as a team and earned 85 out of 100 possible points.
Our troop is Scout led. The Scouts plan meetings and activities while the adults act in an advisory capacity. Our Scouts are leaders not just in the BSA, but in their schools, teams, and clubs.
There is no “Scouting” without “outing!” Our troop camps once a month during the school year and one week each summer at a residential summer camp.
As Scouts, we give back to the community. We regularly participate in flag ceremonies around Piscataway, book sales at the library, beautification projects, and clean-up events.
